This external eSATA slot plate adapter adds two external eSATA ports to any serial ATA controller, and allows you to take the high speed of SATA outside your computer case. Just install the adapter plate into an open I/O slot on your computer; it easily fits into any PC slot. Then connect the cables to the serial ATA connectors on your motherboard or SATA controller card. Then you'll be able to connect external SATA drives that use the new eSATA connector. Length of base to the end of the cables is 20.5 inches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Todd from Bracket Size on Small Form Factor PC's I have HP Small Form Factor PC's. Really need a low profile (2.5" vs 4" bracket) version. Or include a low profile bracket that I can swap out. HP is doing this on a number of their cards Now I have wires hanging out the back of my pc. If I get motivated I may make a bracket, but really should not have to. eSATA is still a great solution to escape the slow USB options for external storage
