works pretty good
I read on line that someone had trouble getting his switch to work. I have put two of them back to back, inputs in one, to outputs from the other. What works works, but 4 of the 9 things I am trying to connect won't work - no audio when the switch knobs are in correct position. This is not so much the switch as it is that light beams from one device to another don't always create sound out the other end. My TV won't power my HDMI/ethernet adapter, and my Mac Pro (2009) won't accept any kind of optical audio input. For the 5 of 9 things that work, the switches are great. I just wish that optical audio didn't take up to 20 seconds to produce sound after the switches are set correctly.

Works Perfectly
This product is great. I needed a few extra SPDIF ports to hookup components (I have a ton of components) to my receiver. I started with a TOSLINK 1-2 splitter but it sucked and didn't work. I replaced it with this product in a matter of seconds and it works great. No complaints here...Recommend to those in need of some extra SPDIF ports.

seemed perfect, but now abandoned
Since I now have several sources to output digital audio, and only one input to my sound system, I was searching for something just like this. This seemed ideal, and at first was working pretty well. But, when switching from one device to another the switch did not make the new connection very solidly, and I had to wiggle the dial to clean up the noise. This degenerated to the point where I had to unplug and replug the input to get a solid connection and clear the 'static'. Then, for some unknown reason, when I changed cable providers again, the output from the Time-Warner DVR would not go through the switch at all. (Same exact model of DVR, same cables I was using before. very mysterious.) So, I'm back to plugging and unplugging each device every time. However, the switch is making a nice weight to put the loose end of the unplugged cable under to keep it handy.

What a huge relief
Thank-you very much. I took a chance this would work and it did! I thought for sure we were going to have to pay a lot more and not be nearly as satisfied. The products arrived in less than the 10 days advertised, despite them being order between Christmas and New Years.

Just what i was looking for. For PlayStation 3, Apple TV, and cable box into one optical input on BOSE Lifestyle 28. Easy to use and install. It only took me 2 minutes to finish installing.

The selector switch works as advertised
I have the selector switch bringing TV and DVD audio to my amplifier. Works great. Much easier than unhooking the digital audio wires and switching them back and forth; easier on me and on the wires.
