Oxygen-free copper conductors deliver awesome impact and bass detail. The low loss 100% foil and spiral-wound oxygen-free copper (OFC) shielding protects the important bass signals from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). A tough, ultra-flexible jacket and 24K gold-plated heavy duty contacts ensure a lifetime of performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flexible and easy to use To keep the cable hidden, I needed a 20' run to the sub. This worked well and was easy to route through holes in the wall. Alas there's still hum in the sub when the music is off. Others have reported this with the sony receiver I'm using, so I do not think it's weak shielding - I think it's a Sony ground loop problem, probably.

is the subwoofer cable the same as a coax digital audio cable?

No those cables are constructed differently. The Subwoofer cable is a dual conductor, where as the digital coax cable is a single conductor.
