Our aluminum hub conveniently adds four high speed USB 2.0 ports to your desktop or laptop computer. The slim form factor saves space while the port placement and hard-mountable metal base keep the hub in place even when several USB devices are connected. The removable aluminum base can be hard-mounted to your desk. The hub easily slides from that base, and makes it convenient for travel as well. This hub can be self-powered from the USB port, or utilize an AC power supply adapter (included). Downstream ports have automatic connect and speed detection plus overcurrent protection with auto recovery. Add additional hubs to daisy-chain up to 127 devices; this hub delivers high speed data transfers up to 480 Mbps. Whether you are downloading or transferring spreadsheets, MP3 files, digital pictures, or video streams, our 4-port hub makes connecting several high speed USB 2.0 devices hassle-free. This hub is a perfect accessory for Microsoft® Surface® products and other leading laptops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made a difference We are a small dental office. When we upgraded to digital x-ray sensors our sensors would randomly not take an x-ray. We tried TONS of difficult "fixes" for this problem. Finally we were talking to one of techs (someone unrelated to our digital imaging) and he suggested we try this product. I immediately bought it and we haven't had a problem since!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 port hub worked as expected Many of our employees are using laptops now. Unfortunately we needed more than the couple that came on the laptop. This hub looked great, and most importantly works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid device with flexible options I use this device to expand the USB ports on my laptop. I have gone through (read: "broken") two USB hubs so far, and I was looking for something sturdy and flexible. This device does the trick - very sturdy, portable, flexible (PC or AC powered), and relatively small. I don't anchor it, but I find the USB cable attachment to my PC to be a good length and I can move it wherever needed on my desk. All devices I've attached to it have worked perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for my specific need I used this product to create an "extension cord" for a computer speaker phone. Unpowered USB extension cords did not work, but this worked great for my polycom cx-100.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4-port USB HUB Couldn't use the provided screws for installation since they were a bit too big. Otherwise, product was perfect for my purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4-PORT USB HUB, WELL DONE AND WORKS GREAT I bought this unit to use with a laptop PC which did not seem to like my other USB hubs. The unit arrived, it is beautifully finished, I tried it out, works great. The spacing on the USB ports is wide enough so virtually any accessory can be inserted comfortably and without crowding. I am using it on a laptop we use for meeting presentations, and the hub will really simplify setup for multiple devices. I am very happy with it and C2G service. Exactly as described and well finished, a real winner.

Questions & Answers

We have one of these hubs left over from another project - how necessary is it to use the power supply? I don't have many outlets near my computer.

Asked by: TJ
The product description clearly states "This hub can be self-powered from the USB port, or use an AC power supply adapter (included)." I have used these hubs without the external supply for several years with no problems. Unless you're connecting a high-current device such as a USB disk drive or a device that uses the port to charge its battery, it should be fine. In a current application, I intend to use it without a power supply to connect a keyboard and mouse.

I've read accounts of some iPhone users having issues attempting to charge their iPhones from external hubs that only supply 500mA since they attempt to pull through over 1000mA. Can you confirm if this is or isn't an issue with this particular hub so I'll know if I can connect my iPhone to it before I make my purchase?

I think I've answered my question about the different replies to the questions about power drain. The power cube for this hub has the max drain cited as 2.5 ma. Does that means 625 ma max per port? Is the current limitation per hub or for the whole device? That is, running off the power cube, can one draw more than 626 ma off one port if nothing's hanging off the other ports? (I'd not drive the hub that hard, but it's nice to know how it's supposed to work.) Thanks for your help!
Asked by: edo
The 4 port HUB has a 2.5amp power adapter. This will provide 500ma of power to each port. When a single device is connected you will still only get 500ma on that port. Unfortunately you can not draw more than 500ma off of a single port.

Hello, will this hub power external hard drives that would normaly be powered by the computer's USB port?

Asked by: Craig
Yes. It does work best when using the external power adapter for the USB hub so each port receives the full 500mA.
